The area abounds with wild life with monkeys (long tailed langurs) visiting most days - particularly when our mango, cashew and other trees are in fruit. The bird life - especially early morning and dusk - is wonderful, with bird song filling the air.

Our six dogs and six cats will give you a warm welcome and seek to become your very good friends during your stay. They are all rescued animals and we are long time supporters of Goa Animal Welfare Trust. (

The western view to the jungle clad hills from the sunset terrace (The Jopri) between 5pm and 7pm is spectacular, and will give you the perfect location for that pre-dinner drink!

Susegad has many meanings in Konkani (the language of Goa) - it is a word which has no direct translation into English. It can mean lazy, peaceful, satisfied, contemplative or simply lying back and observing the play of the palm fronds against a perfect blue sky.

Casa Susegad is meant to offer you the opportunity to discover your own meaning for the word, at your own pace, in your own way. To us, it is an oasis of easygoing, elegant indulgence. We offer an escape from the demands of mass tourism and from the stress of western lifestyles.
