It is Casa Susegad’s intention that the food you eat during your stay will be one of your holiday highlights. Coupled with a well stocked bar, the best of Indian wines (better than you might imagine!) and an ever-growing cocktail menu, your taste buds are in for a treat.

Prior to arrival, guests are asked if they have dietary preferences that should be considered when planning menus during their stay. This allows planning ahead for special diets, allergies and, very often, a special wish for something like an authentic Goan Pork Vindalho (a perfect balance of hot sweet and sour – one of the kitchen’s signature dishes, taking a day to marinate in freshly ground spices and then cooked over wood). ‘Returnerers’ (a local epithet for your second visit to Goa!) in particular often make such requests and we always discuss menus daily with guests.

You will be welcome to join staff on trips to the fish and other markets, to the Saturday morning market in the village – a particular favourite for fresh spices and great photo opportunities – and to the Communidade mills when things like fresh palm oil is needed. If you want to learn about Goan cooking, Joanita and her team will be happy to receive you into their kitchen to help and gain the benefit of their knowledge.

If you are out for the day the staff are happy to offer recommendations for good dining experiences elsewhere and if you just fancy a night out, then there are a few reasonable places that Casa Susegad can recommend from a Rs.400/= taxi fare.
