If all the activity gets too much, the Casa Susegad grounds are spacious, with many little nooks and crannies where you can be alone with the birds and the monkeys, and your thoughts - possibly with a dog or two in tow! Seating is provided all around the grounds, some in the form of tree swings and hammocks.

Part of the garden overlooks the house and pool towards the West. Here, by the Jopri (Hindi for hut or shelter), with the trickling waterfall behind you, we have built some imaginative seating to take advantage of the spectacular sunsets over the jungle clad hills. What you choose to drink there is entirely up to you!

The Jungle Garden nearby is entered though an ancient doorway and has a circular path that takes you past four statues of Hindu Gods and over a small waterfall by a pond. For bird watchers the most southerly sandstone bench lends itself to early morning viewing of bulbuls, thrush and robins having their first wash of the day. Here the planting provides a lot of shade and privacy and, with it, the sense of being somewhere really special.
