The Casa Susegad team has made extensive studies of local wines and spirits. Their well-stocked bar is a testament to their dedication and only stocks the best of all that is available. From the extraordinary Desmondji fine spirits and Magic Moments triple distilled pure grain vodka to their premium gin (served with the inimitable Schweppes Tonic) – you are sure to find a drink to suit.
There is also an ever-growing cocktail and mocktail menu and a fine desire to try new recipes. The staff are happy to receive input from guests and will, on request, try to obtain any specific libation. Sêby is now the master of cocktails, eager to please and invent his own, served with flair!
In 2010, Casa Susegad decided to serve only Big Banyan Premium wines. For many years the quality of Indian wines had been unpredictable but at last India, and specifically Paul John, Big Banyan’s Chairman, combined with the eminent Lucio Matricardi, wine consultant at the University of Milan, produced these wonderful wines in Goa.
So for the first time, Casa Susegad is able to proudly offer excellent Indian made wines! Indeed Casa guests now often ask to take bottles of Big Banyan home with them.
The newly refurbished bar area is a gathering point prior to the evening meal as well as a place where thirsty guests can escape from the rigours of sun-bathing. Light lunches and snacks are also available here. After dinner, it is a place for continuing conversations over a glass of brandy or feni (the local spirit distilled from cashew – or ‘caju’, locally – apples).
