Casa Susegad is blessed with ten wonderful staff, some who live-in with their families, who are often praised in guest reviews. Their hallmark is a shy smile with a sense of wanting to do their very best for you as a valued guest.
The Casa’s long-standing cook, Joanita, and her two dedicated assistants, using only the best locally supplied ingredients, produce the sumptuous food that Casa Susegad is now renowned for. Not only do they prepare the food but also serve the evening meal and keep the kitchen spotless.
Two dedicated and trustworthy housekeepers service the guest bedrooms and reception rooms to the highest standards. When not in your sight, they can usually be found working in the laundry room – Casa Susegad offers a full guest laundry service.
The Casa’s two guest experience managers (or GEMs for short!) ensure that guests are registered, served breakfast and lunch and offered tea/coffee and other refreshments at any time you need. They help guests plan trips, book taxis and ensure that everything is done to make their Susegad experience memorable.
Set in over an acre of verdant and fast-growing land, Casa Susegad requires three people to manage the grounds, water the plants, clean and maintain the pool, gather the coconuts and clear any fallen fronds. Often they need to work alongside carpenters, electricians and plumbers when the need arises, and enjoy acquiring new and useful skills for frontline maintenance.
With three couples and three children living on site, and the rest of the staff walking in from the village, the sense of community helps everybody to work companionably in an eclectic, multilingual family that really cares for its house guests!
